Getting Started in Carve Wood — Your First Lumber Loop
Carve Wood is a lumber tycoon: grow rare trees, chop logs, carve them and sell to customers, then hire workers to automate the loop. This guide walks you through the first play session from spawn to your first income stream.
Do the Tutorial
The tutorial takes about two minutes and teaches the core loop in order. Completing it grants the “You completed the Tutorial!” badge and unlocks the Codes button.
The tutorial steps are:
- Grow a tree — plant or wait for your first tree to sprout.
- Chop it — hold the chop interaction to fell it.
- Carve the log — take it to the carving station.
- Sell to a customer — hand the carved wood over for cash.
Understand the Core Loop
The whole game is one loop:
Grow → Chop → Carve → Sell → Hire workers → Repeat
Your lumber yard grows trees even while you’re offline, so progress never fully stops.
Your First Upgrades
After your first few sales, spend cash in this order:
- Oak Hatchet (~150) — replaces the starting Twig Splitter.
- Apprentice Logger (800) — your first worker; chops at 0.6x with no idle cap.
- Paintbrush gamepass (199 R$) — doubles customer visits for a big early boost.
Where to Go Next
Once the loop is running, move on to:
- How to Grow Trees — rolling rarities and biomes.
- How to Make Money — customer bonuses and the fast-cash trick.
- Workers — which hires pay off first.
- Rebirth — permanent income multipliers.
